Hi David,
Thank you for your comments. I agree that there are some negatives with some of the wealthy visitors. However, there are many positives of how this group has greatly contributed to the community through charitable giving for our new hospital, new YMCA wih swimming pool for the high school, giving to Community Services and their spending on our local retail and island small businesses. Our job and goal is to further advocate living green and environmentally sensitive: to protect the beautiful nature of this special place, we all love.

I've got mixed feelings about another round of Clinton summer vacations or the start of Obama ones. Beautiful island. It should be available for all.

But with the big celebrity bucks come the mega-houses, jets idling for hours with the air conditioners on, road noise, litter on the roads, crowds and even higher prices. All all that has made the Vineyard a very different place since the Clintons started coming here, forcing away many who were born here.

The Vineyard is indeed beautiful in every season. I don't get there nearly enough in the winter but I have been to Edgartown's Christmas extravaganza a few times. Donaroma's is definitely a magical experience.
Merry Christmas.
